The Key Choice of Pangolin and Kvant
As the end of 2023 rolled around, Brown Note’s Ryan Knutson set out to elevate their visual productions. With their 20th anniversary right around the corner, he was looking to make a huge impact in the industry going into the new year. As such, they turned to Pangolin Laser Systems, making a major investment in January 2024, to craft the perfect fleet to complement their existing visual production and laser arsenal.
While no strangers to laser technology, Brown Note initially worked with Pangolin and Kvant back in 2018 to expand their visual capabilities for their clients “and to help streamline the system integration, packaging, and deployment techniques.” Ryan explained. “This all to create a more efficient production process and save our clients time and money, and produce a more cohesive visual experience.” With an already successful partnership established, revisiting Pangolin going into 2024 was a no-brainer. This time around, Brown Note was ready to take their production to the next level, eager to explore the possibilities that higher-powered lasers had to offer.
Pangolin didn’t just provide the lasers - they worked hand-in-hand to support Brown Note during their search to find the best solution to grow their inventory while ensuring seamless integration into their existing robust infrastructure. As such, Brown Note confidently made the move to acquire several high-powered Atom lasers and laser bars from Pangolin and Kvant.
In addition to their newly expanded laser inventory, Brown Note also invested further in their networking infrastructure and education, providing, Laser Safety Officer training and certification to their team and ensuring they are fully equipped to handle the lasers with utmost professionalism and expertise.
Laser-Focused with Atom Lasers
The decision to invest in Kvant Atom 42W lasers and laser bars wasn’t taken lightly; Ryan Knutson underscored the importance of this decision, emphasizing the decision was guided by considerations of rider acceptance, size-to-output ratio, and a proven track record.
Since their debut from Kvant, Atom lasers have quickly taken the industry by storm. This trend has only further accelerated with the release of their newest innovation – the foam aluminum enclosure. Boasting features like crush capabilities for impact absorption, insulation from outdoor temperatures, and its compact, lightweight, comfortable design - and of course, the integrated FB4 for control and ScannerMAX Juno Scanners - it’s no surprise that the Atom lasers are increasingly becoming a must-have for technical riders and production companies alike.
This enclosure not only boosts the longevity of the Atom but also enhances the overall production workflow, allowing Brown Note’s team to deliver seamless and immersive visual experiences time and time again to their clients. Recognizing the creative possibilities these lasers would unlock, Ryan stated “These products are a perfect addition to our existing inventory and offer our clients ways to be even more creative with their visual production.”
